Canadian Immigration has announced to start processing for Temporary Resident Visa and eTAs for immediate family members living abroad.
Temporary residents visa and Electronic Travel Authorizations are still suspended for everyone. But except for those who are having some special or valid emergency reason to travel to Canada. Immediate family members can now travel who are intended to stay in Canada for at least 15 days.
These instructions were set by the Ministry of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Those who are holding a valid visa for Canada or got approval for their visa may enter in Canada under the new laws set by the ministry for COVID-19. People will have to stay in a Quarantine for 14 days upon arrival.
Canadian Immigration staff will verify and confirm the purpose of travel in Canada. After approval only you will be able to stay in Canada.
IRCC is also processing the Temporary Resident Permits and eTAs for those countries who are free from Corona virus.
Immediate Family members of Canadian Permanent Residents or Citizens are defined as:
- Spouse or Commom Law Partner
- Dependent Children
- Grandchildren
- Parents or Step-Parents
- Guardians or tutors
Family members of Canadian Residents or Citizens are allowed to travel travel from any country around the world under certain conditions:
- Their visit must be at least 15 days long.
- They must have to be legally self quarantine for 14 days.
- They do have COVID-19 or any kind of symptoms.
The instructions given by the Ministry of Immigration IRCC are valid until 30th June 2020.
